Keith Allan is an actor, writer and director best known for his unforgettable five-season portrayal of Alvin Murphy — better known simply as “Murphy” — on Syfy’s cult-favorite series Z Nation. Equal parts reluctant hero, antihero and zombie messiah, Murphy became one of the series’ most distinctive characters and earned Keith a devoted following among fans around the world.

Throughout his career, Keith has worked across television and film, appearing in series including Star Trek: Enterprise, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Mad Men, Will & Grace, The Good Doctor and Stumptown. His work also includes films such as Ponyboi, Kill Me, Deadly, Zombie Night and Rise of the Zombies.

Behind the camera, Keith has built an equally varied body of work as a screenwriter and director. His writing credits include Rise of the Zombies, Social Nightmare and Zombie Night, and he made his feature directing debut with 11/11/11 before going on to direct episodes of Z Nation. His work reflects the same offbeat creativity, dark humor and willingness to take chances that audiences have come to associate with his performances.
