Russell Hodgkinson is an actor best known for his five-season portrayal of Steven “Doc” Beck on Syfy’s cult-favorite series Z Nation. With his unmistakable humor, heart and laid-back wisdom, Doc became one of the show’s most beloved characters, surviving the apocalypse — and all five seasons — while earning Russell a devoted following among sci-fi and horror fans.

A longtime stage and screen performer, Russell’s career includes roles in Tim Burton’s Big Fish, 21 & Over, ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction, Maysville and The Stairs, along with television appearances on Grimm, Leverage, Three Busy Debras and Tiny Beautiful Things. His career grew out of years in professional and regional theatre before expanding into independent film and television.
